Welcome to my blog Griff Girls In Shorts.
My name is Aishling Clifford and I am a first year student in Griffith College Dublin. Over the next few months I will be regularly updating my blog in hope you that you will all enjoy it and realise that GAA is not just for those hairy, awkward species we call men..
As a born and raised Country girl Gaelic Football has always played a big part of my life. For as long as i can remember I have always been involved in sport whether it be football, basketball or even the odd bit of soccer. As the years have gone by and i have got..urm..? taller... it has become very clear to me that ladies sport in general and GAA especially is not seen to be very popular.
I have decided to write this blog to inform others about ladies sport but especially and mainly about ladies gaelic football.
I feel that ladies gaelic football as a sport is not recognised enough, especially in my College in Dublin. As a student in Griffith College I am unable to continue playing my favourite sport here as we do not have a team, as a result I have had to contact another college to play. I'm sure that I am not the only student that has have had to do this and hope to find others who are in the same boat as I am
In the next couple of weeks I will be blogging about my love of sport, about ladies GAA I will try to make my blog as interesting and exciting and as enjoyable as I possibly can and hope you will visit on a regular basis :)

hi ashynutter,
ReplyDeleteThink your blog is very interesting and look foward to reading more posts from you, would love to play gaelic football but I never looked into finding somewhere in my area that coatches gaelic football.
You said you are a born and raised Country girl, im from the big city and would love to hear about the country, what county are you from?
You said that Griffith college does not have gaelic football here, maybe you could start up a team for Griffith?
Look foward to reading your next blogs!!
hey Amanda,
ReplyDeleteI'm from Kerry....So that is probably the reason i'm football crazy =]. Your area should definitely have a Gaelic football team or if not somewhere very close to you should. You should ask around as it's a great sport and keeps you fit.
